Are the ethernet ports on SOHO modems hardwired as MDI-X? Or are they auto-sensing?

    I know most of the soho stuff over the last 5 years I have seen is auto sensing but I would check documentation on the particular item.

    But normally, if not auto-sensing, they would be MDI-X, correct?

    Trying to solve a problem a friend of mine has(remotely, icon_rolleyes.gif). He has his Playstation 3 hooked directly into his modem and can't get a connection(no link light).

    I believe most are auto sensing but again if you can get a model and check documentation.

    As dynamik said, check the cable. The PS3 can be directly connected to the router.
