in CCNA & CCENT
Good Day,
I should have mentioned at first that this in preparation for the CCNA, so what i'll be using is a simulator and not actual routers.
I would like to setup DNS on a Cisco Router. For the ip name-server command what ip address should i assign? Should it be the ip address of an interface on the router or the ip address of the router itself ?
Also, What configurations should i make on other routers and host computers so that the translation can work with the router that i have set up DNS server on?
Complete details of the enter setup would be greatly appreciated even the smallest of details.
Thank You

Optionsthenjduke Member Posts: 894 ■■■■□□□□□□you can use 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2 as they are reliable dns servers... You could use ISP dns servers but I find mine unreliable and figure why not use them as third or fourth DNS servers.CCNA, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCDST, MCITP Enterprise Administrator, Working towards Networking BS.
