Finally got a callback!

For those of you that don't know I just finished my bachelor's and have been applying for loads of jobs with mostly no response aside from a few rejections.

Today, after noticing my iPhone has been showing 0 bars the last 2 days and I was unable to make calls I rebooted it. As soon as it came back on I had full bars and 2 voice mails from yesterday from one of the companies I applied to. (Thanks for the great service AT&T!)

I called them back and they had me do sort of a mini-interview on the fly. Then asked if they could send me an application and background check authorization for me to fill out and send back along with my transcripts.

I know I'm still a long way from an offer, but I'm just excited to be moving in the right direction.

I had a problem with AT&T and voice mail last month. I got a voice mail via their visual voice mail two weeks after it was left. It was for a recruiter for an opening. I called him back and left him a voice mail explaining why I had not called him back but he never did return my call.

Thanks everybody. I'm waiting to see when the package arrives. Maybe I can read something about their interest by their method of shipment. If they overnight it that'd probably be a good sign.

I didn't realize it when I applied for it, but it's actually an instructor position. That kind of threw me for a loop since I just finished school last month and it seemed odd to go from student to teacher without actual experience in between. But, the more I've thought about it the better it seems. They are essentially looking for someone who can learn something quickly and then turn around and create a course on it to teach to groups of 15 people or less.

I've always said my greatest asset was my ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly, so I think I'd be pretty good at this.

Your head is in the right place! Where I am currently at they asked me to learn what sales people do in Dynamics and then teach them. Overall it's not too rough, best thing to do is to learn as much as you can, practice, and then if you can grab a small group to see what question may pop up.

Another thing to think about is this, a teacher at any level below college is only required to have a BS/BA and a teaching certificate. The certificate amounts to a couple months of student teaching. Just know the crowd and at worse, act like their your grandma and show them everything lol. Good luck!

Well, I FINALLY got the forms they were sending me. Naturally, the 2nd question is the dreaded "Salary requirement" question.

I've always heard that you should never answer that or just put something like "negotiable."

What do you think?

I have always heard the same thing as well. Put Negotiable is what I have been told.
