Deleting RIP routes from route table

Hi All,

Can you please tell me how to delete a RIP route entry from a route table?

I tried "clear ip route *" from the enabled mode which clears all routes but once I reconfigure the ip address for the interfaces the RIP routes return.

Would it be easier to simply disable RIP altogether?
ie:

Router# no router rip

Would you have to run that from the "router rip" sub level, or will it work from just config level?

This command would need to be run from the router rip level.
