Hi, I met someone who was selling his CCNA/CCNP/CCVP lab kit for 600$. Here is what he is selling in the kit.

Lab kit contains the following items:
- Cisco 1700 (x1)
- Cisco 2950 (x1)
- Cisco 2900XL (x2)
- Cisco 3640 (x1)
- Cisco 3620 (x1)
- 12RU Rack (x1)
- Cisco 7940 IP Phone (x3)
- Standard Power cables (x7)
- Cisco 7940 Power adapters (x3)
- CAT5e Patch Cable (x11)
- Cisco Serial Cable (x1)
- Cisco Press CCNA Security Official Exam Certification Guide (x1)
- CCNA Switching Lab CD (x1)
- CCNA Routing Lab CD (x1)
- CCNA/CCNP Lab CD
- CCNA IOS Configuration Editor CD (x1)
- CCNA Pix Firewall Configuration Wizard CD (x1)
- CCNP Router & Switch Simulator CD (x1)
- CCNP Network Protocol Analyzer and VOIP Packet Sniffer CD (x1)

My question is that if this is a good deal or not? I would really like to start my Cisco Certification track and was looking for a lab kit.

Thanks guys

I am no authority on Cisco, but I'd recommend you buy the devices separately. The equipment keeps depreciating and by the time you finish your CCNA and look forward to the CCxP, the prices would have fallen by say, $10 (assuming if you take 2-4 months).

Since you want to do the CCVP, make sure that the devices do Voice. Nothing worse than having a load of crap sitting on your desk that you wouldnt use.

That $600 tag seems steep, IMHO.

Unless the 1700 is a 1760-V with some nice VIC and VWIC cards, and the 3640 and 3620 are max memory and also come with some Network Modules.... overpriced.

At least try to get the price knocked down some ($100 - $200 off). Unless this person has alot of people interested in it, he / she will be sitting on it for a while or selling it in pieces on eBay / Craigslist.
