VCP4........Passed

Well I passed the VCP 4 exam today, only decided to go for it as the second shot came up so been studying on and off for about a month. I would say the exam was harder than the VCP3 and was definately a more technical exam, relying more on knowledge of how the features work.

I used Train Signal videos and the VMWare website was a great resource for more indepth info, work for a VMware partnerso have free access to several free copies of the entire vsphere suite.

Now I'm gonna take a break for the rest of the year, while I try and decide on what to do next.

Do they still do that BS where you have to recall arbitrary things from the interface? I was fine with the technical details but got screwed there.

Congrats on the pass! You're one of the first few I've seen do this.

    Congrats on the pass :)

Did you also have to do a VMWare course?

Thanks, I took the course for version 3, so I had a direct upgrade to 4 without an additional course

Congrats! It's nice to hear the VCP4 exam is more technical than the previous version. I may actually have to upgrade if that's the case.

Unfortunately we only have a few weeks (with Christmas thrown in the mix) before we have to take another class icon_twisted.gif

I did it a month ago (only day I could get space at the test center for some reason - so I had to wing it :)) and got two stupid interface/technical questions (which isn't a bad percentage) one of which was almost identical to a question from the 310 exam. Overall a better exam.

I hate interface trivia. I'm glad this one is better. I was trying to get this one in before EOY, but I might let it slide... since I took the VCP4 What's New class after my VCP3, I don't have to have it before EOY

Edit: Oh yeah... congrats on the pass!

Awesome job Dave! Nice to see you haven't stopped since I left (is the place still floating or has it sunk yet?), and that you haven't become a lazy bum like me with the studies. d'oh! ;)

On that front, have some interesting news to tell you pal, will explain later when I come round with the missus.

They want to make sure you work with the product in order to pass hence those questions. Oh and I cannot go into any detail of course, but I did get a few interface ones ... less than in VCP310, granted, but they do exist :)
