My CCNA plans, comments wanted

Hello,

I have been watching the forum closely for quite a few days now and decided that I want to take the challange of CCNA after finishing LPIC-2 a little more than a week ago.

I do have some Cisco experience (mostly switches) and I'm quite familiar with networking basics (subnetting, etc.).

I got the CCNA Study Guide from Lammle and after reading the first chapter today it seems very helpful.

My plan is to work through one chapter each day (looking for a job, I quite have some time) and work through some practive exams afterwards. I then want to take the two step approach (INTRO first) to get my CCNA.

Do you think that this is a good plan ? I appreciate any comments

I think you have a good plan but I would also try to get my hands on a couple of 2500 routers and a 1900 switch to do the labs. If that is not an option I would consider getting a sim program like Boson Net Sim.

First, congratulations on your LPIC-2 certification. Now, in reference to your plan. I think you should take the approach that's more comfortable for you. The 1 exam approach was more comfortable for me, and looking at your switch/networking experience you probably can do the 1 exam route as well. But like I said, it all depends on what feels comfortable for you.

I took the two test approach and found it easier to focus on more specific material for each test. Although there was a substantial about of overlap from INTRO to ICND. If you can subnet you should do OK on the INTRO test. INTRO is just that, an INTRO, the basics. I actually enjoyed the studying for this one. ICND, on the other hand, was a little different. It's all what ever you feel is right for you. Good luck.
