Partition Magic crashed during emrging drives!

I used partition magic to merge two logical drives (on same physical drive) and the process hanged at 79% forcing a reboot. As you may expect, once back in, both logical drives are gone!

I could restore from backup, but I really want to know how to regain the drives just so I know it for when there is no backup. I used a few software, and they can't restore it.

Any experts here, please comment

The fix is to restore from the backup you made and will always make before using these tools :P

You don't know what it has done to the two partitions. It might have just merged the metadata or it might have wiped out one set and lost the other. It might have just altered the partition table and the two partitions are intact.

You could use something like this: Disk Recovery Software and Hard Drive Recovery tool for Windows

That's my favorite, but there are some free ones and some that are less expensive.
