Is the book right?

techtrottechtrot Member Posts: 7 ■□□□□□□□□□
I don't like the Cisco Press CCNA book as much as the Sybex book, but I'm on Ch. 19 checking my understanding. I question the answer in the back of the book.

7. Why would you display the IP routing table

A. To set the router update schedule
B. To identify destination network addresses and next-hop pairs
C. To trace where datagrams are coming from
D. To set the parameters and filters for the router

I chose B and the book says that's incorrect. Can someone explain why this is not right?

What did the book say the right answer was?

The book said the correct answer is:
    D. To set the parameters and filters for the router

In my opinion the word set precludes this from being the right answer.

CCNA 1 and 2 Companion Guide 3rd Ed. by Cisco Press.

This is not the first case where I have felt the book is incorrect in the answers to "Checking Your Understanding"

You should be able to find errata updates on the Cisco Press site. Get your pen/pencil out!

The best cisco press books for the CCNA are the ones by Wendell Odom. Forget about the rest. Enough Said

Go to the Cisco Press website and there is somewhere you can download the Errata document, which points out all of the errors that have been found in the book to date...and there's a LOT of them!

I'm looking at it now and I've printed out about 6 pages.
