pruning vlan 1
acidsatyr
What would happen to control protocols such as cdp, dtp, etc that use vlan 1 by default, if the vlan is pruned manually?
For example, cisco doesn't allow you to include vlan 1 in prune-eligible list on trunks, but what if you do it manually, with 'switchport trunk allow vlan' command? What effect would that have for protocols that use vlan 1?
thx for any insight

They continue to operate on VLAN 1 between the switches but no user traffic is allowed on VLAN 1.

So even if it is not "allowed" these control protocols continue to use vlan 1?
Thanks!
