I bought som dimms for my 1760s 128mb dimms
now I read a pdf manual made in 2005 and that it says 16, 32, 64 dimm modules work in 1760... but I have read other places that november 2003 - present can take 128MB dimms

what is true and what isnt true...

all my router 1760s were made in Dec 2003 and 2004 I have a 2003 July one that looks the same inside as the Dec 2003 to 2004 1760s..but
did I screwmyself and these dont take 128mb modules?? of DRAM???

I have:
1760_1 sent date I was told by cisco July 2003
1760_2 sent date Dec 2003
1760_3 sent date feb 2004
1760_4 sent date mar 2004

I've got 5 x 1760's and had no problem with 128M modules, not sure what the manufacture dates are though. It's likely that it will take the module and just not see more than 128M/160M in total.

On my first 1760 I ended up with 192M of RAM visible (64M on-board, and a 128M module), but it was IOS version dependant, 12.4.XC4. Since installing 12.4T, it only sees 192M during POST, but then only 160M after the IOS has loaded. But thats all I need for lab work.

Just like Windows really, the MB sees 4GB but Windows only sees 3.xGB.
