I have a HP Compaq 6720s laptop .... and I have a problem.laptop not be opened and am trying to prove with f2.and has to give with this message ... Failed startup check.Status=failed-replace hard disk 1
warranty id =83klh-00000-20098-cnu73-10008-01

Based on that post, it doesnt sound like you are technically inclined, if you are Im sorry, but it sounds like you need to take it to a service center, as the problem it sounds like you have is either a faulty hard disk or OS, which in either case will require a OS reload; and if your a novice is probably not going to be something you can easily be walked through.
