ICND1 Scheduled 4/24/2010

I have scheduled my ICND1 exam for April 24, 2010.
I am tempted to just go take the exam now to see where I am at (I used a discounted voucher).

I have a few years of hands on experience with Cisco 6509's, 2950s, etc, but not any routers.

Here is the lab that I have assembled:

Routers

1x 3620
1x 2650XM
2x 2621

Switches
3x 2950-12
1x 2950-24

WIC's

3x WIC-1T
1x WIC-2T

Network Modules

1x NM-16A
1x NM-2FE-2W
1x NM-4T

Cables

1x CAB-OCTAL-ASYNC
2x Smart Serial to DB60
3x DB60 to DB60

Looks like you have a very good lab to start with. Make sure you can subnet in your "sleep"! Good luck... you should be fine!!!

I think I have subnetting down for the most part.

I can solve almost all of the questions on subnettingquestions.com within 10 seconds.

These type usually take me a little more time:

How many subnets and hosts per subnet can you get from the network....

    Where the number of bit's = N

    subnets = 2 ^ N
    hosts = 2 ^ N - 2

memorize the powers of 2 all the way up the scale.

Most people will tell you subnet is huge and they are right. You need to know this.

Having just taken the CCNA exam, it's all over the place...know it well...

Can anyone recommend some labs I should go through before taking the exam?

So far I have done a few NAT and RIP v2 labs.

I have also played around with SDM.

I think I may move my test date up to this Saturday.

I am getting impatient so I re-scheduled the exam for this Saturday!

Well, I passed the ICND1 today.

This was my first attempt at a Cisco exam. The only word I can use to describe it is bland.

I think I will take the ICND2 in a few weeks.

I was just about 3 weeks between the two. Enjoy the pass and reward yourself for the pass... a few drinks and a nice dinner.

How long does it usually take before you can use the Certification Tracking system?

    Congratulations!! icon_cheers.gif

There can be a slight backlog as they process the Friday and Saturday (and maybe even Sunday) exams into the tracking system. Best case it still shows up Monday (after 9am) -- otherwise look for it again Tuesday. But you can't complain to Cisco until after the 10 or so days (or whatever) they mention on the score report.

    Thanks!

I'm hoping my ICND2 exam is a little more hands-on and not as trivial as the ICND1.

I just received the Cisco 3550 I had purchased, or so I thought.

They sent me a worthless WS-C3524-PWR-XL-EN.

    I booked my ICND2 for April 24.

I think I should be able to go over everything that I would need to know within 10 days.
