Friday I passed this exam with 727! Talking about a close call...:)
Although I read it everywhere, I did not perceive this exam to be tougher than any other MS exam I have taken before. I suspect that many, just like me when I was taking pre-assessments and simulations, are convinced that knowing XP or Vista gives an edge.
Well it does not really give you too much of an edge.
I presented the exam without having completed reviewing all the MS press book, I was only able to review about 6/10s of the material in good depth.
I used several resouces: MS Press book, the Win 7 admin consultant pocket book, learnkey and technet. I would say that it is a must to have the MS press book and review technet, the book has mistakes. And practice practice if you can.
I am glad I passed! I would have preferred a higher score but a pass is a pass.

Congrats!No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -
