New Security Professional Track

So just a heads up,

I took a boot camp with a CCSI this week and found out there will be a new security professional track named the CCNP Security. The tests will be similarly named to the CCNP R&S track in all caps. I know two of the tests are FIREWALL, and VPN. I forget the other two. It should be coming out sometime this summer. This is probably why the Cisco Press books have not been updated in awhile. I do not know when they intend to expire the CCSP, but I expect it to be at the end of the year for those who are studying now.

They do! The SNAF included a lot on the SSM's, in particular the IPS-SSM and the CSC-SSM. And from the IPS material I've seen so far, prolly half the time they're talking about the mods.

Regardless, the IPS exam should be optional. To make it mandatory... not necessary.

I'm not real familiar with the CCSP exam set yet but funny enough my major concern is that I'm hoping you can still get all those sweet security specialist titles by completing this new track lol ie. ASA specialist etc.

any new information on this? i'm very interested to see what the new track is going to look like.

nothing yet, perhaps this is just blown smoke? isnt that cisco event where they announce new things over too? cisco live or was it another event i am not aware of? either way all thats over with and still no announcement.

The main one is -- but they also have CiscoLive events in Europe and Asia/Pacific where they will sometimes make announcements.
