    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    Good deal. I have about 3 more to do (LPIC-1, S+). I might tack something else on depending on when I can get the LPIC-1 done.

    I am going to crack this bad boy open tonight and start re-reviewing for the S+/SSCP whatever.

    On another note, I will be installing AlienVault in a VM today on my brand new ESX server at work and I finally got Cisco VPN working on Fedora. Good times.

    Ok first, I do work in the field (as a Security Admin) and I am somewhat certified. Second there is no chance in hell I am taking a class for this exam. Third If you had read this forum you would see that a lot of people have said this is book is enough. Forth No one is going to send you a damn voucher number, buy one at getcertifiedforless.com.

    I started reading Network Security Bible today (literally 2 hours ago). I am going to finish at least the first 3-4 chapters tonight. So far it has been pretty much a review from Darrils book. Hopefully it picks up in the next few chapters.

    Well I finished chapter 3 as well as part 1 of the book. So far it has mostly been review. I think part 3 is going to be where the book gets to the good stuff so I have a few chapters tonight. I actually have to go to my other job tonight so I am not going to get to read when I go home. I will pick it up later tonight.

    I'm scheduled for the morning of the 12th. I still have about a third of Darril's book to read, and I've only watched 3 trainsignal videos, (which so far are extremely boring) so there is still lots to do. I also have my transcender to run through several times.

    I think I could take the test today and do fairly well. I scored 61% on Darril's pretest, and the one transcender I did 2 days ago was 70%. So while I still have a lot of work to do, I likely won't need it all to pass, so I'm not worrying (yet).

    Cool guys. I'm looking at August 13th or so. Probably no later than the 20th. The issue is going to be making sure I have enough time between jobs to do the exam. I am still on chapter 4 of the Network Security Bible and I am honestly not sure if I will finish it before the exam. I most likely will but that won't be a priority. There are a lot of things I can lab out in the book so if it takes me a little longer to get through it, I am ok with that.

    At any rate, I finished Darrils book a while back. I have some notes I am going to go over and I will probably pick up some testing software.

    Honestly I'm most worried about the legal stuff. I did the worse on those end of chapter exams and I was the most bored when I studied it.
