    It's a security function to prevent spambots from well, spamming. :) I think it's after 10 posts or so that you'll be allowed to send PM's.

    There should have been instructions on how to get the admins to enable pm'ing in your welcome email you received after you registered.
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.
