Writing a resume with no relevant IT experience

Goal is an entry level help desk job. Story is graduated and got a job at a retail chain then later decided to enter college. did community college first then did a transfer to a 4 year school.

Now i've finished my classes and now have a bachelors of applied science degree where all my classes outside my gen ed ones were computer science classes. it is still an option to return to school and get the straight computer science degree but at this point i'd prefer to chase certs and try to land an entry level job.

now i'm trying to write a resume. i worked at the same big box retailer before and then during my entire school run and i'm very much sick of retail so i want to leave it. work experience is non-existent except for this retail job. here's what i've thrown together so far and its in no way final. i'd appreciate it if anybody could give me guidance on it.

Ok. Since you have no IT work experience you need to show what you know to a potential employer. Therefore you should move your skills above work experience. Also, as you mentioned I would pursue a few certs to get started. In fact I would pursue the A+, Net+ and Sec+ then decide if you want to gravitate towards networking or sys admin type work.

The A+ and Net+ will show that you have a good understanding of computer hardware and how to troubleshoot it as well as networking without getting vendor specific.

If you want to get some work experience volunteer yourself to do some i.t work for a company, also look for an intern ship, there are plenty of people who gotten jobs without experience, but experience help, also try and network and try and find a job through contacts it helps.

I had no luck in landing volunteer gigs or internships. What I did was post notices on bulletin boards at grocery stores, drug stores , and some other small businesses as a PC repair tech. I got some experience that way and have even set up home offices and now 2 small business offices. I've had to learn on the fly and most of my customers thought I was more experienced than I am (advantage of being older) but I never mislead them on my experience level. I've used google so much I should get stock in it or something. Your soft skills you've gained through your education and your retail experience can help to carry you a long way.
Like the others have said put your skills above your work experience for now.
Other than that the only thing I would suggest changing is instead of centering left justify. I just think it looks better.
