Users can't access Sharepoint

canaancanaan Member Posts: 46 ■■□□□□□□□□
I have some users on windows 2003 server who can't display the Sharepoint web site. When they go to http://companyweb , they get "The page cannot be displayed" message.

I think these users did not authenticate to the web site when they logged in to the Domaine the first time.
How can I get them to view the site??
THank you in advance for your help.
Canaan.

Use the default iusr_xxxxx in IIS, use windows auth or choose unanymous as the user, make sure you have entry for dns and that you dont have any firewall blocking your port to webserver...esp on winxp...finally on the share, make sure you set permissions there too....

    Hello jmc724,

I'm not sure what you mean by "use the default iusr_xxxxx in IIS". Could you please explain.

In IIS, theres a default user that is used to process logon to your website or in this case your share point. It is created by default when you install IIS. There is also a password associated with this user. Only the system knows the default password. What it does is to enable unanymous access to webistes using the default username and password.
