Hi there does anyone know any noob freindly tools to reset a windows Vista password which the user has forgotton.

    +1 on kon-boot. It's easy to use and works.
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    I tried using KON BOOT but I don't believe that will allow you to reset a password; only bypass it and gain access to Windows.

    Also, it didn't seem to work for me with Windows 7. Only Vista.

    Also, when did you last try Kon-Boot. It does support Windows 7.

    Just make sure you've got a backup available as I've had that utility on a few occasions render the system unbootable.

    I used Offline NT Backup for XP/Vista.. didnt think it was good for windows7..

    havent tried Kon yet.. but best believe I will when I got some free time.

    so glad I joined this forum.. you guys are awesome
