ProCurve...?

I know this is a CCNA forum, but you guys have always been very helpful and I just wanted to know if anyone is familiar with HP ProCurve certifications. I want to know if they are as tough as Cisco and what to expect, sims? Multiple correct answers? Tricky questions like MS? Thanks for your help again.

I have not taken any of the HP ASE exams but it does seem that a 3rd party certification such as the CCNA, CCDP, CCIP, CCNP, etc. is required in order to achieve certification.

Actually it looks like they require a Professional level cisco cert as a prerequisite to taking their test. I checked the test content and if you had a CCNP or CCIP it would probably be a breeze.

As far as I remember the questions were pretty straight forward. The test is online, so I don't consider it a reputable cert.

This is the one Im taking, AIS (Accredited Integration Specialist), HP ProCurve Networking solutions. I just scheduled it with Prometric. I think Prometric is reputable? I took my MS exam with them. I really want to know if there is going to be sims like CCNA or how in depth the exam will be.

I was referring to the ASE Campus WANs exam, which isn't proctored at all. If you're doing it through a Prometric facility it should be fine.

Not sure about the certs but at my work we just got an HP Procurve MSM760 wireless controller and a whole bunch of waps because we couldn't afford the cisco ones. But the sales reps were trying to get me to buy switches and routers also and their commands are very similar to cisco's. I didn't buy any of their routers or switches but I know they try and use the same commands as cisco.

I passed the HP ProCurve AIS this morning. It wasn't too hard, pretty straight forward. More about product specs and how they handle STP and Trunking.
