What CD do you keep in your toolbox?

Mine is Hiren and Vista Repair Disk. I manly use Hiren to reset pw and haven't really explore the other tools on there. What are some good prog to repair mbr, partition, and hd? I ran into several occasions where an XP will not boot due to boot manager issue. Sucks my company doesn't have a XP repair cd.

    I primarily use Hiren's Boot CD, myself. As for what's out there right now, I'm not sure, it's been a while since I did the kind of consulting that didn't allow me to simply re-image the machine and restore the data.

    backtrack 4, a Ubuntu live CD, and Kon-boot. Between the first and last there really isn't a system you can't at least TRY to get in to with a relatively good chance of success.

    Hiren's and a custom built BartPE disc with driver packs from driverpacks.net. The custom built CD allows me to clone on to different hardware using Acronis and it includes all the network drivers and video card drivers that you will ever find. It's very rare that I boot that CD and it doesn't find everything to clone over the network and have all my tools available too.

    On a flash drive I always carry driver packs from driverpacks.net, the latest NVidia & ATI drivers and use DriverForge to install drivers on a cloned image of Windows with all the latest updates. Also Memtest86+, HDAT2 & Truecrypt amongst other bits and bobs.

    That and a carry pouch with different versions of windows and windows server.

    Usually my Ubuntu USB w/ assorted tools stored. Hiren's Boot CD for all the 'goodies' and some of the basic W7/Vista Repair Disk for restores, startup repair etc...

    I have Hiren and UBCD. I also keep a copy of XP pro and home, Vista ultimate, and Windows 7 . The big items in my toolbag are my notebook which lets me dowload what I need and google what I don't know.
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    Ultimate Boot Cd it has serviced me well....i think Hiren maybe better but i was in a hurry at the time and it was a pain to find a link so I went the easy way out

    Several windows OEM cd's
    A few flavors of Linux Live CD's
    NTFS on DOS boot loader utility

    and a 4GB flash drive with enough junk/utilities to help get the job done.

    I need to get me one of those CD's tho... icon_cheers.gif

    does Hiren contain viruses?
    i just downloaded it and some times norton picks up a virus when i go to run certain progames. Looks like a great tool but not sure about the viruses it keeps getting picked up on

    There aren't any known viruses on Hiren's Boot CD. Keep in mind, however, that many security-related tools, (read "cracking tools",) are considered by most AV programs as threats and will be flagged as such.
