Resume Critique (Another!)

Hey guys,

Haven't posted on here in awhile, been doin the usual- family, friends, work. Decided to try to see what was all out there work wise. Just wanting to get some input on my resume. I tried to keep it to one page, so I only highlighted what I feel are the most relative skills I have.

I am trying a new format too, so any input is greatly appreciated!

When I read these resume threads I only glance at them for a good 15-30 seconds because thats about the time you'll get in the real world to get someones attention. Your resume grabbed my attention, but lost it shortly thereafter. I felt the section where you talked about your work experience was hard on my eyes and needs to be shortened into smaller bullet points.

This is just my non biased opinion and I don't mean to be harsh. Just trying to help!

That's not a bad resume actually. It's quite well laid out. In addition to what Zaits said:

1. Move the certs up to the top of the heap.
2. I can see most of your experience comes from your Tech Specialist role, but instead of having 3-4 sentences in one bullet point, only have 1-2 sentences per point and more bullet points.
3. Maybe move some points over to the previous job? The second job looks weak.
4. I have seen that a font called Trebuchet MS is best for the eyes of the reader. Verdana is not too bad either. Anythin else and I got to strain my eyes a lil to read the text.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have changed the font, and I agree- Trebuchet MS does look good. So thank you for that.

My question is this- I have roughly 3 yrs experience now, and like I mentioned, I only put down the things I feel are the highest relevance. However, I feel that I was really constrained and found myself leaving some items off of my resume to keep it to 1 page. Is it okay to dip into the second page? And if it does go into 2 pages, should I move certifications/education to the top?

It's best if you can't fill a second page to not have one. As the others suggested do some editing to shorten each bullet point on the first job.
The only thing I didn't like about the resume is the length of the bullet points in the first job. Makes it difficult to give a quick lookover, which is what people looking at your resume will do.

I'm a big supporter of a 1 page resume for entry level, but eventually you're going to have a lot relevant experience that you simply can't keep to one page without selling yourself short. So my advice if you can fill 2 pages and make it look clean and clearly show there was a reason for 2 pages... then you get my vote.

Thanks for the advice as well, decided to clean it up and keep it 1 page. If I tried stretching it to fill up page 2, it looks a bit.. run-on ish lol.

So 41 views, and only 3 comments. I guess that is either a good indicator or a really bad one lol.
