Hey Guys,

Work have lined up more exams for me to study and shoot towards now.

They have scheduled me in to brush up on and go sit the 70-681 exam in just over a week. I have seen as well by the looks if it, it is fairly similar to the 70-680 exam in terms of content.

It was not in my list of exams to pursue, i was heading towards the SA then the EA track with the 680 exam. However i am thinking if i study for one essentially i am almost studying for both and should try my luck knocking both out. The reason I am looking at this is that I am using 680 material to help me towards the 681 as their isnt anything out there definite in book form.

What is everyones opinions, something worth looking at or would you just sit the one?

I am surprised that work is requiring you to pass the 681. The 681 is all about deployment, and while it does count as a client exam for the MCITP:EA, the real value is for employees of MS partners who need to be DDPS certified to deliver MS-funded deployment engagements. Besides, the test has only been live for a month.

Are you sure they didn't mean the 686? Taking the 680 and 686 would get you the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification. There is a lot of overlap between the 686 and 681.

    Hey Claymoore,

I confirmed it with them last week and they booked it in as well, i would have rather sat the 70-680 if I was going for a desktop exam, as there is established MS-Press books I can lab with and more information available helping hone in on my weak areas! However I believe it has to do with the Partnership reshuffle, they said 70-680 wouldn't suffice. I don't mind as I love learning something new anyway!

I think i might knuckle down over the week and see how I feel towards mid next week, then decide if i book in the other one as well. Ive done WDS images and deployment but haven't had much exposure to the MDT so I might see how I progress over the next week before I book myself in.
