Connecting WAN port to LAN port straight thru or Crossover?

Hey guys, had a question

When connecting a WAN port (modem) to a LAN port on a switch or hub, do you use a straight thru cable or a cross over?

I know straight thru's are used for unlike devices (pc-switch,pc-hub) and crossover's are used for like devices switch to switch, pc-pc,hub-hub, but when its a wan port to lan port, which do you use?

I'm not sure on that one.

You should be able to use either - the ports should be auto sensing.
