Exam Path to CCNA?

I am aware that I can either obtain my CCNA either by taking..

640-802 alone.

or

640-822
640-816

My question is.. does it matter?

does your certification say ICND1/2 CCNA.. or does it just say CCNA?

I almost passed my 640-802... but failed one simulation.

So I pretty much decided to take the 2 part exams instead...

just curious to what the actual certificate says/looks like.

any insight would be much appreciated... thanks.

If you take and pass the 640-802 composite exam, you get your CCNA right there. If you opt to take ICND1 first, that gets you your CCENT. A completion of ICND2 after that will get you your CCNA. Same certification, just two ways to get there.

okay thanks.. so once I pass them both, I can put that I have my CCNA on my resume.

but if I happen to not pass the 2nd part, I can atleast put CCENT on there.

    good to hear.

I guess its more of a macho thing amongst other network engineers to be like oh i passed the 802.. didnt need to take the ICND1/2. lol icon_rolleyes.gif
