How late do you stay up studying?

Here's my schedule. Wake up at 6am; leave at 7; arrive to work at 8; work till 4:30pm; get home around 6; shower, eat, etc till 10; study till 12am.

I have no kids and only have to worry about myself. I am wondering how you guys with kids... full time job... and full time school does it. What are some tips?

I'm most alert in the morning so I get up earlier (around 4), and study 'til 8 AM. I'm fortunate that my office is 2 miles away, so between 8 and 9 I go for a quick swim and breakfast.

Some years ago I stayed up late and slept until 8:30 AM --- so I essentially gave my employer my most energetic and focused morning hours. I realized that my boss didn't care nor appreciate that as long as I was getting my job done, so I put those precious quiet hours to myself instead.

I get home before 6 PM most nights, and review notes and do house chores, then go to bed by 9:30 PM. It sounds like a boring schedule, but I'm more productive and feel better now than I did in college.

I'm a full-time student, but school is trivial. I think this is the norm for most community college students. I could work, but that would interfere with studying for certifications.

8:00AM - get up, make coffee, read for an hour or until I can't concentrate
Take a break to eat and whatever I feel like cleaning up around the house.
11:00AM - Watch a CBT, read, play with my lab
2:00PM - To the gym for an hour to run, lift, swim, or kettlebells
3:30PM - 5PM - read, finish watching with CBT, lab
Then I make dinner, do dishes afterwards.
7PM - 12AM - read, CBTs, and lab with breaks every hour or so

Yes, I'm very fortunate to have such a luxurious schedule...trying to make the best of it before I get thrust into the working world with whatever knowledge I've obtained starting in May.

My best advice to you is to take breaks! Breaks help maintain your focus. You do need to remember this stuff you're studying

My basic study that I used for my A+, Network+, and Security+ was to study for one to two hours M-F, and 3-5 hours on the weekend. The weekend hours would vary, because I work nights. I never had a set schedule, except that I would have a goal in mind as to what month I wanted to take the certification test. I took breaks about every hour or two.

Well that was my schedule before I came to KSA

walk up at 8:00
Go to work from 9:00 till 5:00
Come back home sit with wife/kid eat ..etc till 9:00
Study from 9:00 to 12:00

In weekends I study more up to 5 hours I also try to study @work when I don't have any assigments.

I think the only tip I have is to organize your time and if you can study at work and it's allowed to then make use of this time.

I don't start working until Monday, so I've had plenty of time to study, but I will be fine once I start working too...

It's just me and my son here, and his bedtime is 8pm, so I can start reading as soon as I put him to bed
