Finally took it (984/1000)

in Windows XP Professional
I took both the 70-272 and this during the same day. They had loads of problems with the computers, during both exams the computer crashed several times and I had to wait for an hour before the 70-270 when they installed the test engine from scratch, so I wasn't really confident to start with.

In the end I thought that this was easier and much more logical than the 70-272 test (scored 836).

Anyone preparing for 70-270 should start with Walter Glenn's XP Pro book (make sure it's the 2nd edition), it has a lot of useful stuff.

Also learn the permissions, WLAN basics and network protocols. After that you're pretty much through if you use XP daily.

    how well did the notes and online quiz here at techexams help you?

    Was the online quiz easier or harder than the actual exam?

    The online quiz has a few useful tidbits that you have to remember (like the FAT32 formatting limit), but I wouldn't count on it to get a passing score. The actual test was harder than the quiz here.

    The SP2 factor isn't as dominant as in the MCDST tests, but you should know what it changes and where.

    Also, you should feel comfortable reading and troubleshooting basic networking configurations (including wireless ones).

    I don't know if the sp2 questions are actually scored on the 70-270 exam...
    At the beginning of the exam they do say that there will be a couple beta questions that will be used only to improve upon in the future tests.
