Browser you use at Work

macdudemacdude Member Posts: 173
I currently use Firefox with IE tab, but it does not always work well with our intarnet. Might have to switch back to full blown IE. Boss warned me of that when I started but I hate IE. Just curious to know what everyone is using at work?

Generally Chrome because our Spiceworks machine is a tad slow and tends to load a bit quicker than Firefox or IE.

Might have to try IE9 beta, heard great reviews, but I am a little sad that our apps won't work in firefox and IE Tab is just too slow for work.

I use Opera. I have to admit that I have never taken Opera seriously until I tried them out a few months ago. If you're waiting for the new FireFox like I was, give Opera a whirl.

I swap between Opera and Chrome with IE for a few specific sites. Rarely if ever load up Firefox.

We use IE7 as our current standard. New around here so I have no idea of when that may change. If it were up to me, it'd be Firefox all the way.

We are still in the Stone Age, using IE6. Being in the Systems Engineering team, I however am able to take the liberty of using Firefox.

Firefox generally for work and anything else. Though, there are some intranet sites that aren't compatible with FF so I have to use IE. Not quite sure why I don't use Chrome at work since I use it at home. I rarely use FF or IE at home.

Since I have to use the USD ticket system (gag) the only browser I can find that doesn't still open new tickets in new windows is Maxthon. Otherwise I use Firefox, but even FF set to not open in new windows is somehow bypassed by the ticket system.

I always force users to use latest IE with latest updates on my networks, but often enable compatibility view. It doesn't mean that I'm bad person. This is for lowering requests at helpdesk with problems like "that button on page doesn't pushes", or "that text covers another text" and so on. This is main problem, especially with developers in my country that they don't test their web pages with another browsers and don't go with standards. That's why my help desk doesn't support users using other than "standard" IE8 browser.
And IE is easier to manage trough GPO - one point for IE from Server administrator's sight. And to answer to question - I use Firefox at work, because I'm administrator :D
