what is my issue 1841 tftp update?

itdaddyitdaddy Member Posts: 2,089 ■■■■□□□□□□
See below I am running the tftpdnld command after I set the paramters
for connectivity. but it keep user aborting and not giving me a chance to say yes to continue and overwrite.

I have a flash that went bad so I purchased a new flash for this 1841 cisco router. So I am trying to load a ios on it? so do I have to format the flash first ?? and if so how do I do that? before I load IOS on it. Thanks

so you can't press 'y' when the prompt asks you to continue? weird I guess.

Easiest way to install an ios on a cf card is to throw the cf in your pc and just copy the .bin over.

You should hit yes and let it format the flash card before it will atempt to copy image across.

Well, you need a card reader. I have one of those multi-card readers which includes a slot for CF. 5 bucks on Ebay :)

You should always format flash cards in a router before using them. You usually can't put Monlib on once a card has been used as the initial sectors are used.

No. It won't format the card unless you tell it to. You should always format it using the same device as what the card is intended for.
