New Security Specializations are out via the CCNP Security Track.

Prerequisite: CCNA Security
Firewall Security Specialist - Security Secure and Firewall exam
IOS Security Specialist - Security Secure exam
VPN Security Specialist - Security Secure and VPN exam

More certs on the wall , a total of 5 including the CCNA/CCNP Security with this track

I count six, for the path... if you don't count CCENT:

1. CCNA
2. CCNA Security
3. IOS Security Specialist
4. Firewall Security Specialist
5. VPN Security Specialist
6. CCNP Security

In any event, they have always done this for the security track. Of course, if you are putting on a resume, I would only put CCNA and CCNP Security on it.

If I remember correctly don't specialist certs expire expire every 2 years compared the 3 for the actual CCNP: Sec.

No big deal but I never understood why.. Always seemed like a quirky Cisco gimmick to get you to test more.

It doesn't look like Cisco has updated the 4011 or 4013 for the new CCNP Security Exams -- and the CCNA:Security page I'm looking at is pointing at the 4013 instead of the 4011

It used to be that if you did the "correct sequence" of exams for the CCSP you'd get at least 1 certification (specialist or those INFOSEC/40xx) for each exam you took -- plus the CCSP at the end when you completed them all -- so each exam gave you something to add to your resume.

With the old old CCVP exam sequence I think you earned 2 specialist certifications along with the CCVP.

I wish that were the case now with the CCNP:Voice. Nothing like getting a frame-able piece of paper in the mail to motivate you to get more.

I think the 4011 and 4013 recognitions will come eventually. They are from the CNSS and NSA, and since the exams are new, it may be a few more months before they recognize them.

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm not sure I understand what the 4011 and 4013 recognition mean. I saw that in my Certification Fullfilment Page and I'm not sure what that means. Can anyone explain it to me?

Below is the email I got after I passed my CCNA:S exam yesterday.

"Congratulations on successfully completing the 4011 Recognition certification requirements. Candidates are automatically assigned a unique Cisco ID number after taking a Cisco Career Certification exam. Your Cisco ID number is CSCOXXXXX. This Cisco ID number will be listed on your certificate and should be referenced when registering for additional Cisco exams to prevent delay on receiving proper credit for your exam(s).

To ensure you receive your 4011 Recognition certificate with the correct spelling of your name, please verify your name and address by accessing your Personal Information on the Certification Tracking System at www.cisco.com/go/certifications/login."
