CCNA passed!

network86network86 Member Posts: 5 ■■■□□□□□□□
Hi all,
I just recently passed my ICND2 second time round with a 932/1000. My first attempt i got a 798, was so close. I used Wendell Odoms books, Trainsignal videos and TE.
I also briefly read Todd Lammle book. I enjoyed wendells books more and would highly recommend Trainsignal.

Whats next? I really want and have a huge interest in Security, so was thinking about Security+ to get a basic understanding followed with CCNA Security. Maybe since i just passed CCNA i should start with CCNA security? Im looking to get experience or job, but alot of jobs that advertise CCNA require MCSE and am not really interested in Microsft for the moment and dont want to go near Windows server because it doesn't interest me.

Any advice on where i should go next?

Thanks to everyone on the forums for all their help over the year! :D

No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

I would start with CCNA Security because you'll see a lot of material that's familiar after doing the CCNA.

    And congrats on the pass!

wow nice score congratulation :) I had the same problem, however I decided to learn MCTS because especially for 1st and second line job they required knowledge of Windows Server, AD, and network.

    Congratulations!! icon_cheers.gif

I say lead off with the Security+ and then follow up with the CCNA:Security.

But if money is tight, then (since I'm Cisco biased :D) the CCNA:Security probably has more "bang for the buck."
