MPLS and scalability for large scale deployments

So I've been going over MPLS all day today, and have been labbing it up nicely.

My one question is this. For lets say large MPLS deployments such as very large ISPs have. Wouldn't it become very time consuming managing so many VRFs? I guess I would be assuming they have some internal management tool that allows them to setup the VRFs in their routers pretty efficiently and subsequently remove them when the customer no longer needs service.

But I don't know. Enlighten me.

The vrfs only have to exist on the specific PE where the customer connects. So its really not that hard to manage. There is usually a group responsible for doing the discos and clean up so they should clean up any uneeded configuration. Things do get missed though.

Agree with networker. These VRF only needs to be provisioned per customer, so it shouldn't be a huge issue.
