Passed ICND1, Just about!

Omg, I was ready for walking out. thought I was way out of my depth at some points. Only studied for a month. Used Nuggets and Train signal videos and many many hours in the lab mostly fixing annoying problems with my own internet set up due to having an ISP locked down router.

Not for the faint hearted, and much credit to all the other peeps that have already passed.

This is not easy! And the clock is there couting the minutes left, pressure!

Ended up getting 862, phew, a few beers are in order now, then onto ICND2.

    Congrats!
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

Congrats on the pass. I've just failed ICND2 so I get where you're coming from about the time pressure.

    Congratulations!! icon_cheers.gif

What book(s) did/are you using? CBT Nuggets and/or Trainsignal videos are a great additional resource, but are not a complete study solution like Wendell Odom's Cisco Press CCNA Certification Library (the set of his ICND1 and ICND2 books).

And putzing with your Internet connection isn't going to count as Lab work for ICND2 icon_lol.gif

If you haven't already found the Cisco Learning Network, follow the exam link from the main Cisco Certification web page over to the exam blueprint. Then check out the resources they have available.

tbh, I didn't do that much reading, the first few chapters of an old exam prep book from que publishing that I have now found out to be out of date. It has full chapter of ISDN stuff that is now what I believe to be defunkt.

I will be on amazon purchasing the official books for the next exam.

I'd also like to thank the people of this board for being there as a helping hands.

    Thanks Guys!icon_cheers.gif

how did you like the trainsignal opposed to cbt nuggets?

train signal better than cbt nuggets in terms of depth

    and

cbt better than train signal in terms of time duration and fun

    so both combination is good

Very true indeed, both sets of videos have some important concepts that I used to pass. Nuggets is easier to watch and the videos go really quickly. Train signal is not as much fun and can be a little repetative.. Both really good though all in all.
