Hyper-v doesnt release mouse

Awright folks, I have this issue with Hyper-v (running as role on a 2008 R2 host) not auto-releasing the mouse when I try to move the mouse out of the VM, I have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Left Arrow to release the mouse. This is happening only with Windows Server 2008, any other guest OS's have no issues.

All integration services are running. When I look at the device manager in the guest OS there are quite a few devices with the yellow exclamation mark. There are no problems if I run the guest OS in VMware Workstation. I have deleted the VM, recreated it and it still remains the same.

Any ideas? I have googled around but havent come up with much.

Have you removed the VMware integration components? If not I'd recommend pulling those out as well as the Hyper-V components and then reinstalling the Hyper-V ones.

You were right about the Integration Components Jeff. There was this error sitting in the event logs on the physical machine.

Hyper-V Heartbeat connected to virtual machine 'fs1.domain.local', but the version does not match the version expected by Hyper-V. This is an unsupported configuration. This means that technical support will not be provided until this problem is resolved. To fix this problem, upgrade the integration services. To upgrade, connect to the virtual machine and select Insert Integration Services Setup Disk from the Action menu.

I did exactly what the error said and it reinstalled the integration services and it's all fine and dandy now!

Overlooked what a good admin never should - Look at the darn event logs.
