Ubuntu 11.04 first impressions
Being an open source fanboy since RH 6.0 I thought I'd share my 2 cents.
I like the new side bar, removal of the panel menus (apps, places, etc) and the new consolidated control center. but the new style scroll bar functions seem kinda silly.
wireless didn't work out of the box on my ancient Inspiron 1501 but some tinkering fixed it quickly enough.

Nice to see a fellow veteran fanboy. I've been in the game since RedHat 7.1 and have been through more Linux and BSD distros than I could ever remember.
I just finished downloading the ISO and I'll be installing it in a VM in the very near future. After seeing some screenshots and videos, I don't expect to like it. But we'll see, there was once a time when I thought I'd never want to use anything beyond WindowMaker. -
