OSPF help

OMG it has been awhile but I cannot figure this out.

I have 5 routers.
(never mind the dashes uner the r8 the connections is straight down from R1--FRC----BB2)

R8
R2
R1---FRC
BB1

FRC
|
|
BB2

R8 to R1 is eithernet
r1 to BB1 is frc connection
r1 to BB2 is frc connection

i can ping from r1 to r2
and from r2 to r1 fine

i can ping from r8 to r2 fine

but when i used the command on r8 and r2
router ospf1
network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0

I get no ospf protocol routes in R1 or BB1 and BB2
what gives?

I cannot get r8 and r1 to show any OSPF routes? dynamically?

    i have seen that blanket command have weird results.

    first thing is what are your routing configs from R1, R2 and R8? to also follow R1 is ethernet to R2, then R2 is ethernet to R8?

    yes r1 ethernet to r2 and r2 is ethernet to r8

    yep I can see they are not in the route table.
    but I cannot figure out why. maybe it is because
    of the general command i was using.
    I can use the other command but I used the general command
    on the BB1 and BB2 and R2 and then I tried the network specific commands
    and nothing . I might have to use the network specific comman on all of the routers huh? for opsf ? for it to work maybe?

    1. Is OSPF also running on the other routers in area 0?
    2. Did you check your OSPF timers and stuff?
    3. Do you have other routes with lower administrative distance in the route table already?
    4. What do your OSPF show commands reveal?
    5. What do your OSPF debug commands reveal?

    Do a no network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0 and then try network 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 area 0

    According to CCIE Scott Morris, it is a possible workaround when network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0 fails

    But you do have the command right - network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0 is the preferred way to advertise all interfaces.

    I'd also try advertising each interface separately. It's the preferred way to configure OSPF and it also lets you troubleshoot (and better configure) each individual interface.
