Question about Bridges

I've been reading Mike Meyers' Network+ (Third Edition) and I haven't been able to find the answer to one simple question. In a 10Base2 network (or any other network for that matter), do bridges extend the total amount of systems that you can have? For example, if I had a 10Base2 network with 30 systems, adding a bridge (or a repeater) would allow me to add another segment (thus adding length), but would I also be able to add another 30 systems because of the bridge's capacity to filter and forward packets based on the MAC addresses? Basically, with a bridge, would I be able to have 30 PCs on one side of the bridge and 30 on the other, or would I be limited to 30 total systems across both segments?

I just began my quest for certifiactions 3 weeks ago. Got my A+ the other day!! Computers rule!! Had no idea how fun getting certifications could be. Hopefully they'll be lucrative too
