Mcp? Mcse? Mcitp?

It's been a while since I've touched Microsoft certification material but I'm thinking of getting back on it. I haven't done it since Windows NT, and I never quite got the full MCSE but one thing I know is that by taking one test even, you were considered an MCP (Microsoft Cetrified Professional). My question is, does that still apply? Does the MSCE certification still exist or is MCITP the "new" MCSE? If I complete at least the first exam (of the 3-5, depending on which MCITP) for the MCITP, does that make me an MCP?

When you take a MS test now you'll end up with a MCTS. Once you finish up all the tests to qualify you'll get a MCITP. As far as I know the MCSE was replaced with the MCITP:EA.
    WGU BS:IT Completed June 30th 2012.
    WGU MS:ISA Completed October 30th 2013.

None of the above, as you would start with an MCTS. Although there's more to it, a main difference between the MCP then and MCTS now is that you can get multiple MCTS certs (different tracks/specializations). MCITP is indeed the replacement of MCSE, although again not quite the same (MCSE also had one track originally, while there are different MCITP tracks).

Check out the following page for an overview of the available MCTS certifications:
MCTS Certification | MCTS Training | Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist

    And this one for MCITP:
MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) | Training Courses for IT Professionals
If I complete at least the first exam (of the 3-5, depending on which MCITP) for the MCITP, does that make me an MCP?
So as you can see on those pages it would make you an MCTS first.

You can still get an MCP or MCSE by taking the old tests. They still exist for XP/2003. But if you are going down the windows 7/Server 08 road then you will be seeing the new titles.

To simplify things, MCTS is the new age MCP. Getting this even gives you access to the MCP site (which might end up renamed later, will have to find out). As others have said, MCITP's come in different flavors. The MCITP:Enterprise Administrator is the new age MCSE while MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 is going to be similar to the MCDST.

Check out MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) | Training Courses for IT Professionals for a listing of what is out there. (Same link as Johan's second link)
