Is this cert worth getting?

in Linux+
Hi guys, I am interested in a Entry-Level Linux cert in the future because I know almost nothing about Linux. Is this cert worth getting? Or is there better entry level Linux certs?

In my mind, the Linux+ certification has always been worth if for someone just getting into *NIX, and this is especially true now that it's been revamped to be identical to LPI's LPIC-1 tests. Incidentally, you can earn LPIC-1 by taking the current version of Linux+, you just have to make sure you notify LPI afterwards. The path to passing the exams will teach you a lot, make no mistake. Everything from common commands (and their flags), networking, to performing back-ups and basic scripting is covered. Consequently, this also makes the exams a bit tougher than other CompTIA tests I've taken.
The nice thing about this is that, not only do you get two certs for the price of one, you can also move onto the more advanced LPIC-2 and LPIC-3 certs afterwards, both of which are fairly well-recognized in the Linux community. (Not quite as universally well-recognized as RHCE outside of the open-source world, though.)

Thanks for the advice! Definitely I wanted to learn Linux and I saw studying for Linux+ is a good opportunity to do so. In the very distant future I do want my RHCSA and RHCE hopefully Linux+ is a good place to start though!:)

You actually get 4 certs for the price of one...I just took the test recently and am looking at all 4 on my cubicle wall

I thought it was just Linux+, LPIC-1 (if you register on the first screen), and Novell CLA. Whats the fourth? -

Isn't Linux+ 2 exams? I guess that makes the grand total 4 certificates. -

Novell Data Center Technical Specialist...
It was another "gimme" cert, and after googling it...nobody seems to really know what it is?! On it it says:
In recognition of your market leadership, knowledge and expertise delivering Data Center solutions to your customers.

The topics you learn to earn the certification are well worth it. It will give you a nice linux foundation, which you can build on if you managed to get a unix/linux job.
