Didnt want to create a new thread, but it might just help other folks. Can you experienced and certified CCA's please advise on what resources to use for the 1y0-A05. I looked around on Citrix's website and there wasnt a whole lot available, any books out there? I have access to the CBT Nuggets if they are any good?

TIA!

I may be certified but I doubt I count as experienced. :) This is where I went for the one item I used aside from the admin manuals: Free Citrixxperience Exam Preparation Citrix Guides

I found the one for the XenServer exam to be pretty useful.

    There's a book I've seen recommended for the A05:
The Real Citrix CCA Exam Preparation Kit
    MentholMoose
MCSA 2003, LFCS, LFCE (expired), VCP6-DCV

Thanks for the info, jumped on Amazon and the book apparently doesnt have good reviews on there. But I asked a colleague at work and got the book off him, will thumb through the book over the next few days. Any other resources? I have been looking in the literature section on citrix.com and it has a got a ton of links but they are advanced topics. Someone have a link handy? Thanks guys.

I would recommend doing A18 Basic Administration for XenApp 6 as XA6 is the current product. If you learn XA6, you will have no problems with XA5 if that is what your employer is running in production.

Here's a link to the PDF of the XA6 Administration Guide:

    http://citrix.edocspdf.com/media/output/en.xenapp6-w2k8.xenapp6-w2k8-admin-wrapper.pdf

Here's a link to the A18 Exam Prep Guide which includes objectives, study resources, etc:
    http://citrixtraining.com/uploadfiles/1/courses/A18_Prep_Guide_10.21.104.pdf

And if you must do XA5, here's a link to the PDF XenApp Administration Guide:

    http://citrix.edocspdf.com/media/output/en.xenapp5fp-w2k8.ps-admin-library-wrapper-v2.pdf

Here's a link to the A05 Exam Prep Guide (objectives, etc.):

    http://www.citrixtraining.com/uploadfiles/1/courses/A05%20Exam%20Prep%20Guide5.pdf

Here's a link to the root of the Citrix eDocs site so you can drill down and download the installation guides, readme's, quick starts, etc:

    Citrix eDocs - Citrix eDocs

And here's a link to the Citrix Product Documentation for products that have not yet been rolled into eDocs:

Product Documentation Links - Citrix Knowledge Center

Again, I would highly recommend doing XA6 rather than XA5. Citrix expires their certifications so certifying on the current product will give you a longer period of validity for the cert...just my $0.02 worth.

    Hope this helps...

I have gone through 3 reams of paper, one set of color ink cartridges, two XL black ink cartridges, and about $75 worth of ring binders in the last 2 days printing and binding Citrix product documentation and CTX technotes (resources listed in exam prep guides) to start preparing for the CCEE exams beginning after I take MS 70-647 on Friday. And that was all duplexed printing. The poor HP 6500 AiO probably printed more pages in two days than most 6500's print in two years. The scanner engine went out in my color laser MFP causing it to not work. Printer powers up but has blank display and is no longer recognized by computers. $500 device one month out of warranty and HP won't do anything about it. Sore subject to me...

Sounds like someone could use a nook! That's what I used for all of my Citrix studying, loaded my nook (1st gen) up with all the PDFs. Made for some handy reading at client sites while waiting for installations to finish up.

I know. I've been thinking about it but I HATE reading on a screen. Maybe it's just my bad vision but I detest it.

Actually, I've been thinking about one of the oversized Kindles. I could use a large font and still fit a lot on the screen.
