What OS are you using, If Win98 you need a driver for it, otherwise it doenst know how to address the ram properly. If Win2000/XP could be other issues.

Is this a 'new' problem? Or something you have experienced since you bought it?

Are you using this drive on a network? or Stand Alone box?

Do you have ADMIN priveldges to us the drive?

Does the drive work on a different box?

What brand is the flash drive? Have you checked the mfg's website for 'issues'?

    'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?

The next time that is says full open up my computer and look at the files on the drive. If you see any with a ~ in the name then word is storing its temporary files on the flash drive. That would explain why things are ok when you close word. Rebooting the system does the same thing by default. Words temporary files get huge especially if you are using pictures or graphics in the documents.

Make sure that you have the folder options set to see hidden files.
