No. There are only 3 certs you can get after you pass Linux +. Linux + / LCPI-1/CLA

Also, I'm not sure if you caught my update in a couple of other threads, but apparently this is a 4 for 1 certification...because you also get the Novell "Data Center Technical Specialist," which nobody really knows what it is and is probably not worth the paper it's printed on, but hell...it's got my name on it and will take on an extra line on my resume icon_cheers.gif

    that's from this thread http://www.techexams.net/forums/linux/69044-important-news-regarding-linux-lpic-certs.html

    It's beautiful...I feel #1 coming soon icon_cheers.gif

Honestly, I didn't think Oregon would suck that bad...they were trashy. Our offense wasn't connecting much, but our defense was *owning* the Ducks offense...that game wasn't even close after the first quarter. This is even AFTER our starting QB is booted, and starting WR Russell Shepherd is suspended due to NCAA violations.

TBH I'm not sure if we'll go all the way because I'm sure there is some point in the season when Lee will start throwing interceptions (old habits die hard), but I'm crossing my fingers forsure :)

I got the championship last year so you are welcome to it this year. I watched the whole Oregon game, that was some nasty defense. That Mathieu kid is crazy good.

Yeah, that game (Auburn vs. Oregon) was way too close though! The Ducks that ya'll beat weren't the Ducks that showed up on Saturday...not sure where the switcheroo happened icon_lol.gif

Yeah, I'd like to get a 3rd BCS national championship within 8 years or so! We'll see how this season goes...Mathieu was looking great, and so was Ware. Lee was actually hitting the WR's in the numbers, but we were plagued by dropped passes.

    We'll see icon_cheers.gif

LSU has a great defense and special teams. They should make some serious noise!

I just wanted to say for anyone taking this test, the second part is a LOT harder than I thought it would be. I used both the Sybex book and Linux+ LabSim to study and also have a year+ of Linux sysadmin experience and the second part kicked my ass. I still passed with 590 but for anyone saying this test is easy, it definitely isn't.

The Security+ is easy, the A+ is easy, this test is not. icon_lol.gif

I would say part deux is perceived easier than the first one since it involves less of that rote memorization than part 1 and focuses more on the concepts as well as what candidate remembered during lab time on a particular topic. That focus on concepts rather than precisely naming commands and their handles is probably why majority says part 2 is easier.
But a pass is a pass. What do you think tricked you pram into getting that kind of score?

The second part was still all rote memorization. I think my score was so low because the majority of my questions were about X11, localization, and printing (three things I rarely deal with) Its funny too because I never received below 93% on the LabSim practice tests the 3 times I took it.

Dunno. Oh well RHCSA is up next for me. icon_study.gif

I'm on this bad boy on the 15th. Yeah, is a ton of conf files. I feel good about ssh tonite. Anyone whose taken it recently, have any focus study suggestions. Question though, some of the study materials (Transcender) have Samba and Apache material. However these are not in the Comptia exam objectives. Anyone know if these ARE candidate topics on the exam or a hold over that was once on the old LPIC exams?

There were some pretty bizzare quetions on exam 1.

Both exams are difficult since they only test you on 5 chapters of the Sybex book, so they can really get down and dirty with questions. I saw some pretty weird ones on part one and that frustrated me to the max. I passed with a 690 but I thought I got my butt kicked. You just dont know until you pres that submitt button. Funny though I aced the Network+ with over 800 and networking in not a specialty of mine. Also its the luck of the draw, I think you can get a nasty exam too since the exam is generated real time. Hey a 590 passes, I'd take it just to put this baby to bed. Congrates!
