CISCO WS-C2950-12 vs CISCO WS-C2950-24

Hello to all. I just want to buy 3 switches and i'm i little confused,should i take with 12 ports or with 24 ports?
I just want them for CCNA. (8mb Flash and 16mb Ram it is ok?)

And if somebody can help me with my network path

. After CCNA i want to hire as a Network Administrator,but in a lot of job description i find demandes like: Linux,Windows server 2003/2007,AD.Why should i learn this stuff ?

Paths that i want to follow : CCNA->CCVP or CCNA->CCNP

Welcome aboard. The number of ports doesn't matter. What's under the hood is all the same. The only obvious reason you may want more ports is if you plan to connect 12+ devices to any one switch.

In regards to the Network Administrator title keep in mind that it means different things for different companies. A small or medium sized business will most likely refer as Network Admin to they guy who deploys servers, manages active directory and does all Cisco tasks. Bigger or more specialized companies may have Network admin roles that deal with Cisco gear exclusively. I've seen places that call regular Help Desk techs Network Administrators.

Yes. Its not like you can upgrade the ram and flash in most switches.

All the more reason to be sure before buying. There are models with different configurations out there.

nope, I'd stick to 2950's as the XL's don't support all the commands you need
