Passed the firewall exam last Friday. It was not to bad to be honest below is the method I used to prepare:

SNAF and SNAA CBT Nuggets ( I did these before the classroom course)
Global knowledge course
I re-read the text books from the course twice
Firewall 642-617 CBT Nuggets (watched all of these a day before the exam)
Practice Exams

Now on to Cisco Secure.

You didn't mention doing any labbing, is the exam that weak?

well i guess he labbed a little in the global knowledge class, and usually they give you some extra hours to use the pods after the class ends...so maybe he used that for labbing?

Sorry for the late reply. I have been working with ASA 5505 and 5510 for about a year. I use ASDM everyday the hardest part for me was the areas I was not as familar with I.E configuring High Availabilty failover, and setting up different types of inspection using regular expressions etc. Most of the other stuff I was very familar with due to working with the ASA's daily. I did do more labbing with CCNA security mainly becuase I could afford to buy the kit I.E 2610XM ISR. As I'm sure you are aware the ASA's are a bit more expensive. I did use the ASA's at work to get more familarty with the areas I was not as strong but did not actually implement anything as it is production kit
