CCIE R&S vs CCIE Voice

Hi guys,

I was curious as to which cert would be best for me to dedicate the next 9 months or so studying for the Written and the Lab. I have access to both a CCIE R&S and a CCIE Voice lab at my job. I'm certain they both require long hours of study ... I was looking to opinions on which one is considered a more marketable cert and which one demands a higher salary.

Really depends what you want to do.. R/S will always be in demand and voice is extreme hot right now.

Again with how much will it pay, CCIE as i see it is about the achievement.
Salary will come when you have a proven track record, not just because you can say i have a CCIE.

As for what track, that question can only be answered by yourself. What do you love to do do.

i've done large scale R&S implementations as well as Cisco UC installs. i like R&S as well as Voice, but it seems like the R&S preparation for the CCIE has more abundant material to read on. I also work with a team of 20 engineers, 7 of them have the CCIE R&S cert.

I think unless you are going to be an out and out Cisco voice specialist you are better off with CCIE R&S. You can always do the CCVP anyway. Everything stems from R&S and you can build into all different directions from there. While no CCIE is easy the success rate on CCIE Voice is poor. It can be costly to pursue and the depth of study materials is less great. I think luckycharms on TE took three attempts after studying very hard over 12 months but was unable to clear it. It's a tough track to navigate.
