Lab Equipment

I'm thinking about buying three 1721's and two 2950's as recommended by Wendell Odom at CCNA Build Lists

I'm really not familiar with differences between Cisco models, so is there anything wrong with this set up? Would I be better off buying some other hardware? My course mentor at WGU is the one who recommended that link, just wanted some more opinions before I blow my money on that equipment.

That's what I started out with, worked fine, if I had to do it over, I may have gone to 2600xm's, just because they would have fit in the rack better, but I'm kind of OCD like that. You can't beat the prices of 1721's though, usually 40 bucks on ebay, try to get ones with wic cards though, those can add up.

Just make sure they have enough ram and flash for ios 12.4t
63MB ram /16MB flash minimum, better if they have 92MB ram/32MB flash

What wics are you getting with them ?
wic1t ,wic2t(or wic2as) or wic csu/dsu ?

And cables to go with them.

Make sure the plugpacks come with them.

Only thing they can't do is act as a frame relay hub.
Can do back to back frame relay

Depends on your budget and whats going cheap when you are looking.

I'd recommend at least 2 WIC1T's. That way you can practice using the serial cable. It just depends on how many routers you decide on purchasing.
