Job interview today
shagism
I have an interview today for what appears to be a pretty amazing job. I don't want to reveal too much, but it is an InfoSec job for a really cool company.
I have heard that there interviews are really involved and difficult, so no idea how I am going to do. I don't think I REALLY have the experience they are looking for so I am hoping to wow them with enthusiasm and my desire to learn as much as I can.
It would technically be my first real infosec position, but my current and previous positions have definitely had lots of security emphasis.
No real reason for posting this other than pure nerves.

Good luck with your interview!!! You will do fine. Just keep your head up and if you don't know something don't BS your way through it. Tell them you don't know and how you would go about finding the answer. Go knock it out of the park!!

GOOD LUCK, be confident... just remember you are interviewing them, just as much they are interviewing you.

Just finished the interview.
It went OKAY. I got asked a bunch of questions about a wide range of things and I think I answered most of them fairly well. I got flustered at one point trying to discuss vulnerabilities in poorly written shell code, but I tried to talk my way out of it. I got questions on C coding, shell coding, linux server hardening, CompTIA (he isn't a huge fan), investigating incidents from IDS, email headers, etc. The interviewer didn't seem very into me though. It could have been just the way he is, but it just seemed like he wasn't interested. We talked a bit about the company and the culture and what the duties were for the position.
The company seems like a dream company to work for but the job actually seems pretty boring to start. I would essentially be handling and investigating incidents (alerts from IDS).
I was told it would take about a week and I would know whether I would get another phone interview, an in-person interview, or be told they weren't interested.
So, we'll see how it goes.

I hope you get it because you can never tell on some interviews if the person is dry. I've been on some interviews and I thought they went bad but; in the end it went great. So, that being said you can only do your best and answer all the questions to best of your abilities; they like you or not.
