CEH Exam

Hi

I am interested in completing the CEH Exam.

Is it a case of doing self study and then booking an exam, just like the Microsoft ones I sat?

Are there any good Books to buy?

Do I have to know Linux? I'm a Microsoft admin.

Thanks

James

I'd recommend self study. I used the McGraw Hill All-in-One studyguide. It includes the books and software with practice tests and "flash cards". I was happy with it. You don't need to be extremely familiar with Linux. I'd say the biggest thing you need to know about Linux is how TCP ports react differently to scans, compared to windows systems. You also need to know Linux filesystem basics. I haven't looked over the content for CEHv8, but I know CEHv7 removed the Linux Hacking Module. Are you looking to do CEHv7 or CEHv8? Right now, there are no third party resources available for v8...and to be honest, I'm not sure how much EC-Council has released either.
