Face-to face interview tomorrow-Data Centre Operation Technician

Hi, Just a screen call from one of the biggest IT company in the World, and after 30 min, they told me that they offer me face to face interview-tomorrow!. I am really happy about it but nervous too

. If I would be successful I will need to relocate. Do you think is OK to ask if a company offer relocation package and when I should ask?. I need to admit that I am still studying and at the moment I am not expert with Windows and do not know almost anything about Linux-which they required! . Just a medium-level knowledge of Windows. They required Windows/Unix knowledge. What I should answer if they ask me about Linux? Shall I say that I do not know but I am willing to learn?. I want admit that I didn't lie about knowing Linux, that's way I am surprised that they offer me a an interview!
Any advice?

Yes definitely ask about relocation assistance. Especially if you won't be able to relocate without it.

As far as the linux knowledge, just be honest and let them know you are willing ot learn.

Are we talking biggest by revenue or physically the biggest? If it's by revenue then welcome to the oil and gas industry!

Good luck with your interview, just be yourself and obviously don't lie about Linux, just say what you've done and you'll be fine.

Hi, well one of the biggest hosting company:), so no not in oil or gas industry

. I am still waiting for a decision. Interview was in a really nice atmosphere

. The interview was divided in three or four parts. First about my self, than technical question and at the end nice chat with top manager.

Thank you for all advice. I didn't lie about Linux and said that I am willing to learn.

Biggest hosting company ey ... Coming from hosting myself I can imagine which one you are talking about. Bear in mind, biggest doesn't mean much lol .. The one I have in mind has the most revenue but not much in the bank as they constantly invest.

I'm guessing it'd be a company that has alot of racks and alot of space

Well, that all depends on what he's doing. A title like Data Center Operation Technician screams 'rack and stack monkey' to me, and that gets old *really* quick. Hopefully his new position is a little more involved than that, and I congratulate the OP on his acquisition of gainful employment!

No unfortunately they do not , but it is not important because I am ready

. I do not expect that this job will be advance from beginning, I am just happy that I can work for very reputable company and it's a foot in a door in IT career

which took me a year or so to get where I want
